Privacy Policy

LIFE SCAPE, K.K. ("we") handles information as described below, both in Kagemusha and on this website.

1. What never reaches us

Browsing history, anything you type, cookies, logins, and passwords in the apps Kagemusha creates stay on your Mac. None of it is sent to us.

The list of apps you created, their URLs, and their icons are stored only on your Mac, under ~/Library/Application Support/Kagemusha/.

2. What the app does send

When you activate a license key, and periodically afterwards, the app sends the following to our license server (buy.kagemusha.app). We use it only to count devices against the 3-Mac limit and to check whether a license was revoked after a refund.

• Your license key
• A device identifier, derived one-way from your Mac's hardware ID. The original ID cannot be recovered from it.
• The device name (your computer name)
• The app version

The free edition, with no key entered, sends none of this.

3. What we collect when you buy

When you buy a Pro license we receive your name and email address. We use them to deliver your license key, to confirm the purchase, and to answer support requests.

Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We never hold them.

4. What we collect when you write to us

The name, email address, and message you send through the contact form are used only to reply. We do not make sales calls.

5. Analytics on this site

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to see which pages are read. Both use cookies to aggregate anonymous usage. Neither identifies you personally.

Disabling cookies in your browser opts you out.

6. Automatic updates

The app contacts our distribution server (dl.kagemusha.app) to check for a newer version. That request carries only what any web request carries: your IP address and the app version.

7. Sharing

We do not share your information with third parties except where the law requires it. Payment (Stripe) and email delivery (SocketLabs) are handled by those providers, limited to what each needs.

8. Retention and your requests

Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support correspondence is deleted about three years after the matter is closed.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page.
