Terms of Service
These terms apply to Kagemusha, a macOS application published by LIFE SCAPE, K.K. ("we"). By installing or using Kagemusha, you agree to them.
1. What Kagemusha does
Kagemusha turns a website you choose into an application that runs on its own on macOS. The app it creates runs on a Chromium-based browser already installed on your Mac (Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, Chromium, or Chrome Canary).
We are not affiliated with those browsers or with the websites you turn into apps. We are not responsible for how they behave, how they change, or whether they stay available.
2. Your license
- We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Kagemusha under these terms.
- The free edition creates up to 3 apps. No feature is held back.
- A Pro license (one-time purchase) removes that limit.
- One Pro license covers up to 3 Macs at the same time. To count them, the app sends a device identifier to our server when you activate a key and periodically afterwards. The identifier is derived from your Mac's hardware ID in a way that cannot be reversed.
- A one-time license covers the major version you bought (1.x). When a new major version ships, we will offer holders an upgrade at a reduced price.
- You may not distribute, publish, or sell your license key.
3. Payment and refunds
- Prices and payment methods are listed on the pricing section.
- Because this is a digital product, we do not refund completed purchases as a rule. Try the free edition before you buy.
- If the software does not work because of something we did, write to us and we will sort it out individually.
4. What you may not do
- Break the law, or use Kagemusha for anything against public order.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except where the law allows it.
- Circumvent, disable, or alter the licensing mechanism.
- Use Kagemusha in a way that breaks the terms of the website you are turning into an app.
- Place an unreasonable load on our servers.
5. Changes and availability
We may change or stop offering the software without notice. We are not liable for loss arising from that.
6. Disclaimer and limit of liability
- The software is provided as is. We do not warrant that it fits a particular purpose or that it is free of defects.
- How a generated app behaves depends on the browser underneath it and on the website itself. Updates to either can change that behaviour.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the software, except in cases of our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
7. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute.
